Liceo Panamericano Centenario brings together more than 50 years of academic excellence, a bilingual education model with Cambridge certification and International Baccalaureate (IB) programmes.
Since 1969, we have shaped generations of students who stand out for their professional success, strong values and commitment to their community. Foundation
Our school was founded by the teachers María Teresa Solá de Estrada (Principal), Ángela Matheus, Ana von Buchwald, Lila Álvarez and Nuri Domenech de Monroy.
Boosting English
Clemencia Miranda de Manrique assumes the role of Principal and promotes the teaching of the English language.
Academic expansion
Our Secondary School was inaugurated at the Samborondón campus, expanding the school’s educational offer and supporting students through new stages of learning.
Bilingual school
Our school established itself as a bilingual institution, strengthening its international outlook and preparing students for a globalised world.
EFQM Model
Liceo Panamericano Centenario gained autonomy and began a new phase of growth under the leadership of Mgs. María Auxiliadora Velarde, paving the way for the implementation of the IB Middle Years Programme (MYP).

EFQM Fifth Star
Our school became the only institution in Ecuador to earn the fifth EFQM star, reaffirming its leadership in education.

The Centenario campus entered a new stage under the leadership of Mgs. María Auxiliadora Velarde, who guided this process with strategic vision and a strong commitment to continuous improvement.
The appointment of Dr Patricia Ayala de Coronel as Principal marked a new stage of innovation and excellence. The achievement of the second EFQM star and the school’s path towards the International Baccalaureate reinforced its global outlook, strengthening its commitment to developing leaders with critical thinking and social responsibility.
This year stood out for major institutional achievements. In addition to earning its third EFQM star, the school established partnerships with universities such as UEES, Ecotec and Argos across both campuses, creating new academic opportunities.
In 2018, the school reinforced its global vision by obtaining authorization from the IB Primary Years Programme (PYP). The incorporation of new methodologies and alliances with organizations such as International House strengthened its commitment to educational innovation and international training. In addition, the secondary section was incorporated in Centenario, expanding the educational offer with Fantasy Castle.

As a member of ISP, Liceo Panamericano Centenario maintained its unique ethos while also reaping the rewards of being part of one of the world’s largest and most respected school groups.
These benefits included a variety of international learning opportunities for our students, such as cultural exchange programs, and global collaboration projects and competitions, which provide students with experiences and connections that span borders and cultures. This marked a decisive step towards the International Baccalaureate Continuum, promoting interdisciplinary learning grounded in inquiry and global contexts, and strengthening critical thinking, communication and reflection to consolidate a rigorous, innovative and well-rounded education.
The extension of the authorisation to offer the Baccalaureate, the designation as a Private Bilingual Educational Unit, the application for the Diploma Programme (DP) and the inauguration of the High School building reflected the school’s vision for the future. This expansion project, with spaces designed to foster creativity, technology and collaborative learning, symbolised the evolution of an institution that continues to grow while staying true to its essence and educational commitment.
With the authorization of the MYP, the school strengthened its international training proposal and advanced in its academic projection. The inauguration of the new campus represented the union between tradition and modernity, providing a state-of-the-art educational environment for comprehensive learning.
The authorisation of the International Baccalaureate (DP) Diploma Programme, together with the expansion of the learning spaces through the new Middle School building and the qualification of the 3rd year of Baccalaureate, marked a new milestone in the academic growth of the school.
